Description
The Senior Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Planner is responsible for planning and executing the approach for Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Crisis Management for Medica. This position must forge strong relationships with all Business Units and must have an excellent working relationship with representatives from both the business and technology. Responsible for ensuring that business continuity plans are written, tested, and integrated with the disaster recover plans. Will oversee the update and maintenance of plans by the business on a yearly basis or whenever there is a significant change to the business. Must ensure contingency plans are actionable, tested and able to be implemented quickly in the event of a disaster. This position is responsible for enhancing and maintaining a Business Impact Analyst (BIA) that aligns business continuity requirements with disaster recovery needs. Accountable for facilitating table top training exercises and conducting audits and assessments of business continuity and disaster recovery controls to ensure optimal implementation. Responsible for ensuring that employees are aware of their role in business continuity and crisis management. As a subject matter expert, the Planner will provide governance to all of Medica and expertise in all areas of business continuity and disaster recovery. Must be able to interface with all levels of staff (executive management to technical staff) and effectively communicate and implement a defined strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Management, Computer Science or a related field required. 5+ years of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan development and testing experience required. 3+ years Project Management experience required. Strong knowledge of distributed systems, networking, storage, telecommunications, and IT operations. Experience working in healthcare or services industry preferred.
